1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using Crypto404 (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Crypto404 ("we," "us," or "our").
2. Service Description
Crypto404 is a blockchain address security scanner that provides risk assessments for cryptocurrency wallet addresses. The Service:
- •Checks addresses against known threat databases and sanctions lists
- •Aggregates community-submitted reports of suspicious addresses
- •Performs heuristic pattern analysis on address characteristics
- •Derives addresses from seed phrases and private keys for scanning
- •Provides a REST API for programmatic access
3. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You shall not:
- ✕Use the Service to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or other illegal activities
- ✕Submit false or misleading reports about addresses
- ✕Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
- ✕Circumvent or attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls
- ✕Use automated tools to scrape or harvest data from the Service beyond API limits
- ✕Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- ✕Use scan results to harass, threaten, or defame others

Exceeding rate limits will result in temporary throttling. Persistent abuse may lead to permanent access restrictions. We reserve the right to modify rate limits at any time.
5. No Financial Advice
IMPORTANT NOTICE
The Service provides security analysis and risk assessments only. Nothing provided by Crypto404 constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice.
- •Scan results are informational and should not be the sole basis for any financial decision
- •A "safe" rating does not guarantee an address is trustworthy or that a transaction will be secure
- •Always do your own research (DYOR) before interacting with any blockchain address
- •Consult qualified professionals for financial, legal, or tax advice
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW:
- •The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
- •We do not warrant that scan results are accurate, complete, or current. Threat databases may contain errors, and addresses not flagged may still be malicious.
- •In no event shall Crypto404 be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of cryptocurrency, loss of profits, or loss of data.
- •Our total liability for all claims related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.
7. User-Submitted Content
When you submit reports or other content to the Service:
- •You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content as part of the Service
- •You represent that you have the right to submit such content and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge
- •We reserve the right to review, moderate, and remove user-submitted reports at our discretion
8. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, code, and content (excluding user-submitted content), is owned by Crypto404 and protected by intellectual property laws. Portions of the Service may be open source and subject to their respective licenses. You may not use our trademarks, logos, or branding without prior written consent.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections relating to liability, disclaimers, and governing law survive termination.
10. Modifications to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with applicable arbitration rules, except where prohibited by law.
12. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
